Forsaken by My Mate, Chosen by the Tyrant

I stood at the altar in my million-dollar custom gown, ready to bind my sacred Mate-bond with my childhood sweetheart and Pack Alpha, Darrin.

Right before we could finish our vows, a five-year-old boy crashed through the cathedral doors, threw his arms around Darrin's leg, and screamed.

"Alpha Daddy! Save Mommy!"

Darrin's face drained of color. Without a second thought, he abandoned me in front of all the pack Elders and sprinted to the hospital.

When I followed him there in my wedding dress, I saw him holding the hand of his "savior"—the paralyzed woman he claimed to owe his life to.
