Leaving the Alpha Behind

I was the Alpha’s mate, yet I felt like a stranger by his side. I had to beg for his attention—for him to care for me, for our sick son, Kael.

“I think we should spend the next blue moon together,” I said softly. “As a family. It might... help Kael. Help us.”

“This isn’t just for Kael,” I added, my voice steady despite the ache in my chest. “It’s for us too. A night together, like it used to be. Maybe it could remind us of what we’ve lost.”

Lucian’s gaze finally met mine, and for a fleeting moment, something flickered in his eyes—regret, perhaps. But it vanished just as quickly.
