He Faked Our Wedding to Marry Another Woman

Chapter 1

3,915 words

At the age of twenty-three, I suffered a severe head injury while saving Adrian Sinclair, which resulted in accidental blindness.

From then on, he became my human crutch, never letting go of my hand no matter where I went.

But on the wedding day, Adrian suddenly told me:

“Evelyn Carter, according to the procedure, the groom should be waiting for you on the stage. You'll have to go in by yourself later.”

"The guests are watching, be brave, don't embarrass me, okay?"

I carefully groped my way forward, but still tripped on the steps.

Blood streamed down my forehead, and my vision was restored.

The next second, however, he was stunned by the scene before him.

There was no wedding banquet, no guests.

There was no Adrian either.

There was only an empty, abandoned factory.

Adrian's two friends were hiding nearby and video chatting with him.

"Adrian, Evelyn knows you so well, what if she finds out you ran away from the wedding?"

Adrian's tone was nonchalant:

"As long as you prevent her from holding hands and use the audio I recorded beforehand, she's blind and there's no way she'll notice."

“Chloe Bennett gave birth to my son, and I promised to give her a wedding.”

Chloe was his secretary.

In the picture, Chloe is wearing a wedding dress and nestled in his arms.

Behind me is my favorite Alice in Wonderland wedding theme venue.

It turns out that at the end of this wedding, no one was waiting.

Then there's no need for me to continue.

……

The old stereo was still playing the wedding march.

An empty echo in the abandoned factory.

I lowered my eyes and gave a self-deprecating smile.

Adrian probably thought I couldn't see, so he didn't even prepare a decent wedding dress for me.

It was an old style that I don't know where it came from; the hem was yellowed and frayed, and it was stained with blood, looking like a tattered rag.

Although it was the first time I had seen Chloe's custom-made dress worth one million, it wasn't unfamiliar to me.

Adrian described its appearance to me countless times:

“Evelyn, I ordered your favorite satin mermaid wedding dress. I really look forward to you wearing it when you marry me. You will definitely look like the most beautiful mermaid bride.”

In fact, his bride was someone else all along.

Adrian's two friends seemed startled when they realized I was standing behind the concrete pillar:

“E-Evelyn? We had a private talk with Adrian, what did you hear?”

Perhaps I want to see just how far Adrian can fool me.

I still pretended to have empty eyes and shook my head blankly:

"The music is too loud, I can't hear it..."

Adrian on the other end of the video call immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

“Evelyn, you’re injured. Let’s call off the wedding and I’ll have them take you to the hospital.”

I gripped the hem of my skirt tightly and asked, unwillingly:

"Adrian, I'm a little scared, will you come with me?"

Before Adrian could speak, Chloe took his arm, looking aggrieved, indicating that the ceremony was about to begin.

Adrian pursed his lips:

“Evelyn, you can’t rely on me for everything. You have to learn to be independent.”

"The ceremony was abruptly stopped, so I have to stay and reassure the guests. Okay, I'll come find you soon."

I slowly loosened the hem of my skirt, my palms feeling icy cold.

He ultimately chose Chloe.

On the way to the hospital, I rested with my eyes closed against the back seat of the car.

One of them, feeling bored, turned on the entertainment screen in the passenger seat and started watching the live stream of Adrian and Chloe's wedding.

The driver quickly whispered a reminder:

"Turn it off quickly! Evelyn is still sitting in the back. What if they find out? Don't cause trouble for Adrian!"

The other person turned and glanced at me, then sneered:

"What's there to be afraid of? She's asleep, and I put the car on silent. She's blind and can't see anything."
