Chapter 2

Since I was a child, my parents divorced.

My father was a philanderer and a scoundrel who fooled around with various women and even committed domestic violence against my mother and me.

My mother couldn't endure it any longer in her husband's family and divorced my father.

She took me, who was young, back to her mother's house.

Unfortunately, what awaited her was not comfort from her mother's house but ridicule and sarcasm from Granny, Uncle Joe, and Aunt Mary.

They believed it was normal for men to cheat and play around with women. As long as my mother gave birth to a son, life would be better in the future.

Aunt Mary said bitterly: "Oh, you still have the nerve to say that? Then what do you think we should do now? Your fiancé slept with my daughter. He can't just get away with it, can he? Sunny is still so young. If this gets out, her reputation will be ruined. How will she get married in the future?"

I sneered and asked rhetorically: "Why isn't Sunny here? Is she too ashamed to face me?"

Sunny emerged from the inner room, still being stubborn: "I want to marry Brother Jim! You should give your fiancé to me!" I retorted: "Why should I?"

Sunny looked at me with a hint of guilt in her eyes and said: "Because I slept with Jim, he has to be responsible for me!" I snorted: "It's Jim who should be responsible for you, not me. You're a mistress. Why should I care about you?"

I folded my arms and said: "How about this? Let's invite all the relatives and friends and let them decide who's right and who's wrong?"

Aunt Mary jumped up: "Lina, I didn't expect you to be so vicious, deliberately trying to shame our family!"

I said: "It's your daughter who's brought shame. She even sent the bed photo to the group. Do you still care about this?"

The whole family was left speechless.

I continued: "If you don't want to make this a big deal, I have another proposal..."

"All the money my mother earned working outside over the years, including the property she received from the divorce with my father, should be returned to us!"
