MIRACLE'S POV

I remember the moment my wolf spat only one word after years.

“ RUN! ”

I didn't know how my supposedly dead wolf came back to me and growled at me to run away from the man standing right in front of me - The man who I identified as my mate just as my eyes met his silver-gray orbs.

His intoxicating scent was another dead giveaway. He smelled so heavenly like the smell of the whole forest specially Rosewood.

I wanted to go to him. I wanted to tell him how I waited for him for my whole life. I waited for him so he could answer my questions or so we could find the answers together if he didn't know anything too.

I was supposed to go to him. He was my mate. The mark burning on my neck was another proof of this.

But my wolf pushed forward and took complete control over me. My clothes teared apart as I shifted in my white furred wolf.

And then I ran.

Wildly. Fearfully. Aimlessly.

I tried my best to stop my wolf from pulling me away from the only man who was capable of answering my questions - the questions that I wanted to be answered even at the expense of my life now.

In the history of werewolves - from the time Moon Goddess bestowed the gift of being able to turn into a wolf over us, no one...No one had ever been born marked.

Usually, werewolves find their mates when they shift and then they mark each other before mating to complete the mate bond, but in my case...

I was born, marked. There was a moon mark on my neck that burned throughout my life - A mate mark.

My mate had marked me but how? I was born with this mark. It was not really possible for a mate to mark me before birth.

How was this possible for a wolf to be born marked then?

I didn't even have the right to reject my mate now because werewolves could only reject a mate before they marked each other.

A mark was like an official seal. It was the first step in completing the mate bond between two werewolves then how I was born with this?

I wanted to know all of this. I wanted to ask him why and exactly how I was different and I wanted to ask him if he was different like me too, but my wolf - Gia wasn't stopping.

“ STOP GIA! ” I fought Gia for control, but I forgot to control her with time.

I thought my wolf died at the age of sixteen but now as I turned into a wolf, I didn't know if I should be happy or sad about it.

For now, I only wanted Gia to stop running wildly in the woods so we could go back to our mate, but the fear that I detected from my wolf was worrying me.

Why would my wolf - Gia fear our mate?

Suddenly, I heard the loud growl in the night, that shushed all animals down. A shiver ran down my spine as all my hair stood up in fear.

The growling of the wolf was so powerful that my wolf's knees threatened to buckle. We almost stumbled over a branch and fell off a cliff, but Gia managed to run past it.

Suddenly, a gigantic black wolf jumped over my wolf and landed right in front of me.

My wolf - Gia tried to stop in time to avoid collision, but we were running so fast that our body landed right into the wolf's hard body.

He knew this would happen. He came in front of me on purpose.

A loud - sickening sound of bones cracking sounded in the silent night and I knew I broke some ribs after colliding with the huge wolf.

Howling in pain, Gia retracted and tried to run again while I was reeling with the hot-searing pain that ran throughout my body.

I was weak. I couldn't heal like other werewolves and I could feel the pain as humans did.

It was a curse. A brutal curse.

Gia stepped back from the black wolf who raised his head arrogantly and stared at us with his red glowing eyes. Power was radiating off his wolf. He was superior. I could smell danger in the air too.

A whimper escaped from my wolf's mouth while I realised who was standing in front of me.

The Alpha King - Cain Reyes.

Only the Alpha King had a huge black wolf with red glowing eyes, when he turned. I recognized him easily now. I had heard about him before. Every werewolf knew of him.

“ Submit! ” He growled out as a strong headache hit me in waves.

Whimpering, Gia submitted to him and lowered her head, declaring her submission.

The more the Alpha King tried to get in my head, the more this headache grew.

His aura was too strong for me. No. It was Deadly.

And it felt like he was using force deliberately. He was hurting me because he wanted to hurt me.

Why? I didn't know.

“ I finally found you Mate. ” The Alpha King's hateful and deep voice penetrated my mind and my ears began to hear a loud buzzing noise, due to the force he was using to hold me down with his Alpha aura.

He could make me submit easily but it didn't seem like his motive. He wanted more, judging by the sheer intensity he used to force his way inside my head and dominate me into going full dead mode in front of him. He was literally trying to kill me. He was just like people stated.

Cruel. Ruthless. Powerful. Dangerous. Deadly.

My wolf started to shift back as it became unbearable for Gia to hold on any longer in front of The Alpha King.

She left me alone again. She left me naked, vulnerable, hurting, broken and helpless in front of the Mighty Alpha King - Cain Reyes.

...My Mate.

His glowing red eyes were glaring at me. That was all I saw before my breathing got caught in my throat and my eyes rolled to the back of my head due to the immense pain my mate was causing me.

He came. The man I wanted...came, but he didn't come to cherish me.

He came to take his revenge on me and he came to kill me.

For what? I didn't know in all honesty.

Chapter 01

MIRACLE'S POV

“ Mira! This way. ” The smooth voice calls out to me and I crane my neck to look up at the brown wolf standing in front of me.

A smile make its way up my lips after seeing him. Soon enough, we both are running happily in the thick forest - quick and steady on our paws.

I love this. I love running through the trees. This gives me a sense of freedom. I love the way cold breeze glides over my skin pushing all my hair back. It feels like I am flying without any care in the world.

It's thrilling.

But what I love most about this moment is that my elder Brother Matthew is right beside me, running wildly.

I want to catch upto him. I want to cross him so I can win from him for once in my life.

“ Matthew Slow Down! I think I am going to fall. ” My wolf grins and mindlinks him to slow down in a tired voice.

“ I won't fall for that trick. ” He replies as he runs faster - faster than I have ever seen any other wolf running.

Pride swells up in my chest.

He is my brother. One day, he will become the most Powerful Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. Everyone already respects him, loves him, bows down to him.

He is like that. He is born to be loved. He deserves that love well.

I can see the pack house now. A huge white house with white marble stairs. It's magnificent.

I can see many pack members cheering for Matthew and Me, standing outside the house. They all want to see who wins today, even if they know that Matthew always wins. And I too know, I am going to lose to him again.

“ Run faster Mira. ” He urges me as he runs even faster. He was encouraging me. He wants me to win from him, but fair and square.

Instead of feeling dejected that I am going to lose, I try harder. I run as fast as I can and then suddenly...

I fall.

“ Matthew! ” I call out to him as darkness slowly starts to engulf me.

But as I fall into darkness, I know he is by my side. He is reaching out to me, to save me - protect me.

But everything is just too dark. I can't see anymore. I can't see him or my home or the finish line just beside the packhouse.

Everything is gone.

Slowly, I blink my eyes open and my eyes meet the ceiling of my small apartment room.

The alarm on my bedside table is blaring, creating an annoying but soothing noise. Sometimes, these noises help me connect back to reality.

I was dreaming once again.

Pushing myself in a sitting position, I push the blankets away and grab my cellphone from the side table.

It's five in the morning. I drop the phone and sit on the bed with my legs dangling down from it, after stopping the alarm.

I am lost in my thoughts again. Thoughts were dangerous sometimes. Thoughts could pull you in and then suffocate you to the end.

Then I hear some other noises, which forces me to focus back on shitty reality.

The sound of Moans and groans were coming from the room beside mine.

Scrunching up my nose, I fall back on the bed and grab a pillow to place it over my ear.

Do they have to do it so early in the morning?

When do they even sleep.

I wonder as I close my eyes, trying to tune out the not-so-pleasant screeches that were coming out of Bella's mouth as Liam and she did it for the nth time in the same night.

Oh Great Moon Goddess!

Sometimes, I think these humans have more stamina than werewolves.

And most of the times, I hate that I am a werewolf, because I am able to hear all noises and sounds from across all thick walls.

I swear I can even hear the lady downstairs mumbling curses under her breath. Those are some serious bad words.

This is sickening.

Maybe that's why it's such a pain to not live in the forest when you are a werewolf.

Finally, I give up.

I get back up and sprint to the wardrobe to grab a hoodie. I pull it over my head to hide the gray sweatshirt I am wearing and put on some joggers to go on the run.

Even If I never feel cold, I have to act like humans or they will suspect me or think of me as batshit crazy.

Just imagine someone roaming around in just thin sweats in the middle of Winter.

This might freak them out, so I have to act normal under all circumstances.

Getting ready, I grab my earphones along with my cellphone and storm out the building to get away from all those noises.

A breath of relief escapes from my lips as I notice less people on the streets.

This became a routine. I always have to go to jogs early in the morning, late at nights, even in the middle of the day to avoid humans.

Don't get me wrong. I like humans. Perhaps, I like them more than werewolves, but they will just never understand my problems as a werewolf.

Running on streets, I plug in the earphones and start listening to music on loud volume.

This is the best way to tune out all noises.

Reaching the park, I slow down and my running becomes walking eventually.

On days like these...No. Every day, I miss my wolf, Gia. I miss her so much that it hurts to think about her.

When she was with me, I could always talk to her and tune out all the other voices easily.

...But now, she is gone.

She died when I was sixteen. She died of misery and agony. A horrible death.

I was left alone. A werewolf is nothing without their wolf.

After her death, I am just a human with some special abilities like enhanced hearing and vision. Also, agility and strength.

This is more of a curse than a blessing. I lost the ability to heal faster with the death of my wolf and I lost my ability to block unwanted noises and also lost the mindlink I had with my former pack members.

And no. My pack members didn't throw me out, because I lost my wolf and I was useless now. They threw me out because I deserved it well. I was useless even with the wolf.

My weakness?

The inability to get rid of unnecessary emotions. As a werewolf, I faced enemies and I always failed to take them down. I failed to hurt others, kill others...Even if they were rogues, vampires or hunters.

I was weak like humans and I became human eventually.

Thinking about all of this, I walk back home and open the apartment door with the key.

I can not hear anything right now, because I am still listening to songs, but the moment I step inside, I regret it.

Rolling my eyes, I pull the headphones down from my ears and fix Liam and Bella with my best glare.

“ Please not on the couch. We talked about it already. ” I groan out, seeing them literally eating each other's faces, while laying on the couch.

“ Oh hey Mira! ” Liam chimes, pulling away from Bella who shoots me a cheeky smile.

Bella is my house mate. She is twenty while I am turning eighteen tomorrow.

And Liam is practically a house mate too because even if he lives next-door, he is always found in our house. He is Bella's boyfriend. He is the same age as Bella.

You can both call them my friends. Only human friends. Actually, the only two friends in my life...Both in werewolf and human world.

“ Do you ever go home Liam? ” I ask stopping the song which was playing on my phone.

“ I am home. ” He points towards Bella who coos at him and pulls him in to continue what they were doing, before I rudely and unwantedly interrupted them.

“ Not on the couch. I swear if you do it on the couch, you both will die a terrible death. ” Hissing out, I jog to my room and step inside, before closing the door.

“ Shall we take it to the room? ” Liam asks as I listen in to their conversation. Unintentionally, ofcourse.

“ Nah! She won't come out of her room now. She will never know. ” Bella replies carelessly and silence falls over for a moment.

And then I hear their not-so-pleasant sounds once again.

Ofcourse, no one takes me seriously. Perks of being useless and Powerless even as a human.

Sighing softly to myself, I go to the bathroom to take a shower. As I strip myself off my clothes and stand in front of the mirror, my eyes move to the mark on the spot where my neck meets my shoulder.

A small red crescent moon - A mate mark.

It's glowing again. It's been glowing for the past few days and I don't know what it means.

It not only glows but it burns too like a hot iron rod is pressed on that spot and no one is pulling it away.

It's painful.

When I was born, this mark was already on my neck. According to my brother, everyone in my pack was in a dilemma.

What was I? A curse? A blessing? An Abomination?

What do they call a werewolf who is born with a mate mark?

Mates usually mark each other after they find each other. But even before ever knowing who my damned mate is...

I was already marked.

In human language, I was born married without even an option of divorce.

Now, I have to find my other half and then we both are going to do Moon Goddess knows what.

So back to the topic...Everyone steered clear of my path when I was born definitely because this unusual mark scared them but my father didn't push me away.

My mother died right after giving birth to me and my father was grieving. He was going mad after my mother's death because she was his Luna and mate, but he never pushed me away.

Instead, he named me Miracle.

When everyone debated what I was...A blessing or a curse, he shut everyone by saying I was a Miracle.

With time, I have began to realize how wrong my father was.

I was neither a blessing nor a miracle.

I was a curse. An oracle who came to our pack once had said so.

She had screamed just as she saw me and she had called me the result of a punishment. She had yelled at me and lunged at me, as some sort of ancestral spirits supposedly took over her body. I was only sixteen at that time, but I can never forget what she said...

' You killed love. You killed trust. Now, you are cursed to never have it. You are damned. You are cursed. The mark on your neck is a curse. ' She had said this to me in front of everyone.

I didn't believe her at first but my pack members did. My father did.

Taking notice of the hate that was suddenly directed at me after the oracle made the revelation, I ran away and proved that night...

I was really a curse.

A curse who took away everything. A Luna from an Alpha. A future Alpha from their pack.

Hopes. Happiness. Faith.

I took it all away and everything was taken away from me in return.

I think I was being punished surely and now I wanted to know why.

Why was I being punished and what for?

Only one person in this world can answer all these questions...

And that person is my other half - my mate.

I am turning eighteen tomorrow and I hope to find him soon.

Every question I have in my mind is going to be answered then.

My mate will answer me.

I spend every single day of my cursed life with this hope burning in my heart.

Chapter 02

MIRACLE'S POV

Leaving my house, I rush to get to the cafe I work at. I am supposed to be in my high school, but I dropped out when I was kicked out of the pack.

It's hard living on your own and bearing all expenses. Besides, I need to pay Miranda some huge money to get a potion - a potion which helps concealing my aura.

As I am now a rogue without any pack, some werewolves might come to hunt me one day. They will come to hunt me and they will kill me. They won't care if I am a good rogue or a bad rogue, they are going to kill me.

The fact that I lived in the Red Moon Pack's territory never made it much easier. I have to be more careful. It's the pack which is being run by the Alpha King himself currently.

He is known to be ruthless, cruel, dangerous, deadly and so powerful that his presence can cause some werewolves to feel severe headaches.

The headaches mostly happen when he is trying to instill the fear of his power in other werewolves. His projection of powerful aura can kill a werewolf if he intends to kill.

He hurts when he wants to hurt.

The Red Moon pack has the most members out of all werewolf packs in the world. A number of 1000. A whole town.

And it is known that ninety percent of them are fierce warriors, trained to kill mercilessly.

And ofcourse, he hates Rogues, Vampires and all other creatures. He hates other packs too but as he is the king of the werewolf council, no one can object in front of him and he has to bear with those other packs to maintain peace throughout the community.

The thought of ever seeing him, makes me shiver some times but I don't have to worry.

Miranda - the witch I know gives me a potion that keeps my already weak aura concealed from all werewolves and other creatures.

But she takes a hefty amount in return for only the potion for ten days.

That's the reason I have to work, work and work to keep myself alive, just until I find my mate.

I could go to the rogues if I wanted but the thing is...

Even the rogues don't want a pesky werewolf without any wolf. I am no use to anyone, but I am an easy target and werewolves are going to love tearing me limb to limb, so they can get rid of someone who is spoiling their reputation among other creatures.

And I live in Red Moon's territory because I only have to protect myself from the members of Red Moon pack here. No other pack wolf or creature ever comes here.

It's easy Peasy.

But only until I get caught some day. The pack members of Red Moon pack are going to skin me alive and then they are going to make a door mat out of me if they catch me - a useless rogue without a wolf.

...Barbaric much, but that's how they are.

And how I know about all of this? It's because of something funny.

I work at Red Moon Cafe. The place is owned by the mate of Red Moon's Beta.

She is good but only to me, because she thinks of me as a human.

I got a job here because many werewolves come here every day. It will be easy to find my mate once I turn eighteen if I stay close to werewolf community somehow.

And also, staying so close to them never makes them suspicious. They never keep an eye on me because they see me every single day.

They also talk about stuff - the werewolf stuff. They talk about it among themselves sitting at the far corner of the cafe.

They measure the distance so small because they think of me as human and they doubt I will be able to hear their hushed secret talks from so far away.

But I can hear them clearly. I can hear them so well that it's sometimes hard to not shiver hearing their brutal talks.

Skin him alive. Rip him from limb to limb. The Alpha King killed him today. He ripped the head off a rogue. He killed two pack members for disobeying him in the same week. He changed girls again. He decided to raid a pack and killed every single member there. He did this, he did that, now he is going to do this...Blah Blah.

...They often talk about such things. Disgusting things.

And they also discuss about a girl Alpha King is searching for...His mate to be precise. He wants revenge on that girl. For what? They never say because even they don't know.

They just know that their Luna is already decided upon.

She is Olivia. I have seen her around. She is a girl with long black hair, green fierce eyes and perfect face with a body everyone wanted.

She is going to be the Luna and Alpha King's mate is going to be killed once she is found.

That's brutal.

Why does Alpha King wants to kill his mate when he can just mark Olivia and reject his mate once he comes across her? I don't understand it.

If he kills his mate, it will weaken him and he will not be the strong wolf he is right now.

Most of the times, I feel bad for the girl who is his mate. She will suffer alot and then she will die on the hands of her own mate.

This death will be more heartbreaking than anything I have ever witnessed in the werewolf world.

I hope Alpha King never finds her and eventually marks Olivia as his Luna. A win-win situation for everyone.

Shaking my head, I make my way inside the cafe to find Olivia and Selvia sitting on the far right corner of the cafe.

Selvia is the owner. The Beta's mate. Olivia and Selvia are good friends, but their personalities are completely different.

Selvia is soft spoken and easy going, while Olivia is arrogant and headstrong.

If I was Olivia, I too might be so arrogant considering the fact that the Alpha King chose her over his destined mate.

What about Olivia's mate then? I wonder.

Olivia doesn't want her mate either?

What's so special about Alpha King which makes her want to give up her mate?

Power. Unimaginable power. The answer was clear.

“ Hey Miracle! ” Selvia shouts from her spot and my lips curl up to form a smile.

I don't know why I always think about them so much. They can do whatever they want. It's not like my life is ever going to be entangled with their's.

I am going to find my mate and then he will take me away from here. We will find all answers and we will be happy.

We will get rid of this stupid curse somehow if I am really cursed.

“ Good Morning Selvia! ” I greet her with a smile. She insists I call her Selvia even if she is my boss and older than me. She is twenty two.

The excitement was back. I am turning eighteen tonight at twelve and I know I will find him soon. I have this hunch that I will find him sooner than I hope.

Call it my mate instinct but I can feel his presence near me.

“ You are early hun! ” She reminds me as my eyes move to the clock.

I am really early. My shift starts in one hour.

“ I should grab breakfast then. ” I joke turning my eyes back to Selvia who is still smiling at me.

Oh...I like this woman but I won't like her once she knows I am a rogue. She won't like me either.

I can imagine Olivia holding me down by my shoulders as Selvia rips my head off my shoulders slowly and painfully. Shivers run down my spine once again thinking about this.

“ Are you cold? ” Olivia sneers, her eyes screaming at me that she hates how weak humans are.

“ Yes. It's too cold today. ” Rubbing my hands, I lie without any hesitation.

Lies and secrets help me stay alive. I don't like it but what choice do I have? I like my head very much and I love my limbs intact.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I focus on Olivia and find her already staring at me. There is something in her eyes. I don't know what but it makes me uncomfortable.

“ Go grab some breakfast in the kitchen Miracle. I will see you later. ” Selvia orders me after noticing how uncomfortable I am getting with Olivia's deadly stares.

“ Thanks Selvia. ” I nod and turn around to escape from here.

As I stroll towards the kitchen, I hear Selvia saying to Olivia. “ Stop it Olivia. She is just a human. You scare her with these creepy stares. ”

“ I am telling you there is something off about this girl. I tried to compel her just now but it didn't work. ” Olivia hisses at Selvia and my eyes go saucer wide.

Shit!

I forgot to mention that Olivia is a hybrid right?

Her father is a vampire - the strongest out there and her mother is a werewolf.

I never thought she will try to compel me. Shit! I fucked up.

“ You couldn't compel her? ” There is surprise clear in Selvia's voice as she asks Olivia.

I can imagine their expressions right now and this is making me dizzy.

“ Maybe she just has a strong grip on her mind. You know it's also possible. ” Selvia suggests in a low tone.

A sighs escapes my lips at her explanation. Thank Moon Goddess. Atleast Selvia is not buying whatever Olivia is trying to imply.

“ A strong mindset? Seriously? Her heart is still beating faster than usual. It's picking speed just as I talk to you. It's like she is hearing what we are talking about. ” Olivia sneers and I curse at myself.

Shit! I fucked up for the second time.

How am I supposed to make my heart beat slow down when I am shit scared?!

Placing my hand over the kitchen sink's sides, I hear them talking further.

“ What are you implying? ” Selvia inquires, her tone changing. She is taking Olivia serious now.

“ I think she is a rogue hiding her scent with some witch's potion. ” Olivia declares and I end up grinning.

Like seriously? She had to come up to this conclusion today?

I worked in this cafe for a whole year but Olivia never suspected anything. No werewolf did.

Even the Beta of Red Moon pack - Xavier never suspected me but now this Hybrid girl has started suspecting me.

Olivia is sure smart but her brain began working at the very wrong time.

Or perhaps, my curse is working up again. I am supposed to be always in despair.

Happiness. Peace. Love. Harmony.

All these are not for me as the oracle has stated when she came to our pack.

“ Let's test your stupid theory then. ” Selvia groans out, irritation clear in her voice.

Maybe, she is sure that I am not a werewolf or maybe she too is suspecting me and wants to know if I am really a werewolf.

My ears perk up as I wonder what they are going to do to me to know if I am a werewolf or not.

“ But How? Suggest something. ” Selvia sighs, not knowing how to do it.

But the words Olivia utters next make me want to run away from here.

“ Let's give her some wolfsbane. ”

Chapter 03

MIRACLE'S POV

As I sit on the chair opposite Olivia with her eyes fixed at me, I know what I am going to do.

Earlier, Selvia came to call me out and she asked me to have coffee with Olivia and her.

Regretfully, I agreed. I had to.

If I had ran away, Olivia and Selvia were going to be sure that I am a werewolf and before I knew it, all the members of the Red Moon pack would have been hot on my tail, to find me and then kill me.

I can't even take on Selvia, let alone a whole pack of Merciless killers.

That's why even after knowing what's going to happen, I still stayed. I have to stay to get rid of their doubts.

But, all of this doesn't help in easing my anxiety.

No werewolf ever wanted to be anywhere near wolfsbane. And drinking it? That is gruesome.

It will cause me a burn so strong that I will be twisting in pain in the blink of an eye. I will feel my own organs burning inside me and it will be.....Plain Horrible.

“ You creep me out. ” I blurt out to Olivia nervously, trying to provide her with a reason for the fast beating of my heart.

I know her suspiscions are strong. The moment I show a reaction after drinking the Wolfsbane, she is going to snap my neck. She is waiting for this to happen anyway.

“ I know. ” Olivia grins wolfishly, making me flinch.

She seems quite ready to snap my neck to be honest.

I wish I was not here in this moment. Sighing, I hear Selvia's footsteps but keep my expressions neutral.

She is coming. She is coming with the wolfsbane.

“ Here is your coffee. ” Selvia places the coffee mug on the table in front of me before placing Olivia's mug in front of her.

Now, the one pair of eyes has turned into two pair of eyes. Those two are watching me closely.

Their ears are picking up my heartbeat and their noses are picking up the smell of fear in the air. I am acting like a next level fool.

“ Thanks Selvia. ” I mutter quietly, my eyes fixed at the hot steam rising from the cup of coffee in front of me. I can easily smell wolfsbane and even from so far away, it makes my guts twist uncomfortably.

“ Drink up before it gets cold. You humans need warmth. ” Olivia's bitter voice grabs my attention.

Lifting my head, I stare at her, unblinking.

“ You HUMANS? What are you then? A werewolf? ” I joke, which makes them both stiffen up visibly.

If I am going to die soon, I might as well die after mocking them.

...Childish much, but that's how I am.

Whenever something serious happens, my mind makes me think about funny things.

Slowly, the wolfish grin returns on Olivia's lips. She leans in and I lean back instinctively, even if there is a table separating us.

“ I am a Vampire and a werewolf. ” Instead of being scared, she lets out the truth, laughing at me.

I end up bursting out in laughter, just like her. She is good at this, I must say.

“ You have a good sense of humor. ” Selvia interferes and I know, it's time to stop playing around.

Shaking my head, I pick up the coffee mug. Olivia and Selvia's eyes bore into my skull. I can see Selvia's fingers holding onto the table's corners, ready to dug into it.

The smell of wolfsbane makes bile rise up in my throat as I take the mug near my lips.

Oh the things peopl - I mean a werewolf like me has to do for survival. Tch.

Bringing the mug to my lips, I take a big sip and instantly place the mug down after that.

Okay. My fingers are holding onto the mug tightly so I do not start thrashing. A control measure.

I can feel my tongue and mouth burning and as the Wolfsbane slowly travels down my throat, I can feel everything burning. It's a hot-searing pain that blinds me for a second there. My head pounds, my heart beat picks its speed and the burn continues.

I feel like someone is slowly ripping my soul from my body.

It's like I am laying on a bed of silver nails.

It's the worst pain I have ever experienced.

Even if my wolf is not strong, I can still feel the vicious burn, the cruel intensity of wolfsbane burning everything inside me.

Blood rise up in my mouth and I gulp it down. The metallic taste makes me nauseous once more.

“ Miracle. ” Selvia calls out to me and I lift my head to glance at her. Her forehead is adorned with a frown. Her nails are slowly starting to dig in the table. She is ready to attack, she just needs a small confirmation to do that.

“ How is the coffee? ” Olivia asks and I turn my head to give her my attention.

“ It-It's good. I have never drank coffee which tasted so good. It's like I can die peacefully after drinking it. ” I force a smile up my lips as the intensity of wolfsbane brings tears to my eyes - tears that I have to hold back in order to not end up giving myself away.

“ I am glad you like it. ” Selvia mutters, her grip loosening around the edge of the table.

If I was a werewolf, I would be writhing in pain on the floor by now - That's what they are thinking.

But guess what...I am a weak wolf. I don't feel the burn that much, because my wolf has died, but it's still alot of pain.

Their suspicions have died down for now but it has caused me pain - immense pain. I am bleeding internally and I know it, so I have to be away from them before I end up vomiting out blood.

Suddenly, the bell on the front door jingles and I inhale deeply. Xavier - The Beta of Red Moon Pack.

I know it's him after smelling his scent.

Just as he steps in, he takes a whiff of the smell in the air. I crane my neck to look at him and find him looking back at me. His eyes darken and the golden hue threatens to take over his eyes, but he pushes his wolf back to stay in control.

“ Come with me Selvia. You too Olivia. ” He lets out and I turn my head around.

Olivia is still glaring at me and I realize that she is not convinced even after this. She suspects me deeply and she doesn't like to be proven wrong.

Seliva rushes to Beta like a lost puppy and Olivia follows shortly after. Xavier takes them and then leaves, saving me from further agony.

And finally...

I get up from the chair slowly and sprint to the kitchen in a lightening speed. I run past the kitchen and out of the back door, which leads to an empty alleyway.

Stepping out, I bend over and empty my guts by vomiting blood - that's alot of blood.

The pain pushes me to drop on my knees as I try to grasp something desperately to keep myself up on my feet. My eyes water up and I sniff, shaking my head. Black dots appear in my sight and I open my eyes wide to push this haziness away.

This is not a good time to drop unconscious. Selvia and Olivia will be back and they will suspect me.

Pushing myself up on my feet, I wipe my mouth with my sleeve. They can smell blood on me too. Shit. What am I supposed to do now? I have to think quickly.

“ What are you doing there sweetheart? ” The voice coming from behind me grabs my attention and I whip my head around to find a pale looking boy standing behind me. He was wearing a black hoodie and his half face was hidden under it.

Then the scent hits me and I stumble back.

A vampire. He was a vampire and a...Wolf? A hybrid? What is he doing here?

“ I can smell wolfsbane on you. ” Smirking, he raises his head and I see his eyes which suddenly takes on a red color.

He smelled blood on me.

Sighing dramatically, I push my hair back.

I swear I don't find trouble...Trouble always finds me.

Blame it all on my curse.

“ What do you want? ” I ask, my posture stiff.

Then, it hits me. Another shit well.

Wolfsbane burned everything and I threw up everything so yeah...The effect of potion is gone now.

I did another mistake after that. I took my eyes off an enemy and before I know it, I am pinned on the wall.

His hand is on my throat as he raises me up, my black scrapping against the wall harshly.

My hands reach out to grab his hands as he pushes his hoodie down to reveal his face. His red eyes go to the remnants of blood on my lips and I smirk.

He is a newbie at this vampire thing. A werewolf turned Vampire. He is Dangerous but stupid. He does not know how to get over his hunger and he acts impulsively.

But...what is he doing in Red Moon Pack territory? And why is he not caught?

“ King wants you...But I can drink some blood before delivering you to him right? ” His eyes glaze over as his teeth elongate.

This is shit multiply by hundred this time.

Chapter 04

MIRACLE'S POV

“ King? I don't know anyone by that name. ” I mutter, before bringing up my knee and ramming it roughly against his rib, breaking two of them instantly.

Howling in pain, he doubles over and drops me on the ground. Not wasting any time, I grab his neck and twist it harshly. His body drops down on the ground, hitting it hard, his neck still twisted at a weird angle.

He is not dead. I don't need to worry about that. He just fell unconscious for a while - a day to be precise.

King? Who was he talking about? I wonder but push past him to go back in the cafe. I have caused some serious trouble.

Sighing, I stop by the door and look back at the body.

I was weak. Emphasize on that WAS. I acted weak when I had the power to defeat everyone else. I showed them mercy when I was powerful, but now...

It was merely for survival and when you are in that survival mode, you find all those weaknesses disappearing one by one but, I still don't kill any creature.

I can rip this newbie's neck off and then burn him to hide my tracks, but I choose to leave him alive and...

Running away from here.

Yes. I need to run away.

Olivia suspects me, they might smell this vampire's scent in the air soon and they are going to come. The first suspect in this is going to be me again, because my scent is all over that newbie's body now.

Shit.

Inhaling deeply, I try to think while the pain only makes me want to double over and cry out.

Running away it is for sure, by the way.

**********

Getting home as soon as I could, I open the door and rush to my room without stopping to scold Liam and Bella for doing it on the couch again. They never listen to me anyway.

“ Miracle! Is there something wrong? ” Bella's worried voice catches my attention, as she barges inside my room to find me pushing my clothes in a bag.

I need to run. That's all I can think about. I just have to cross the Red Moon Pack territory before tomorrow morning.

“ Miracle! I am talking to you. ” Bella's hand appears in my sight when it grabs my wrist to stop me.

“ Nothing. Nothing is wrong. I am just going on vacations. ” I pry her hand off and continue pushing my clothes inside the bag.

Bella stays inside the room, staring at me confusedly while I pack everything up in the bag and swing it over my shoulders.

“ Don't worry. I will be back. ” I feed her a lie and she smiles at me.

“ You never go anywhere so I was worried when you started packing. ” She sighs out and goes out to Liam who was standing outside the door.

“ She is just going on vacations. ” She tells him and he nods his head.

How wonderful...They don't know anything about me yet I know everything about them.

I stroll to them and pull both of them in a hug one by one, before bidding my goodbye, knowing I will never return. They were good friends to me. But I have to leave now and I can't bring it in myself to tell them that I will never return.

Perhaps, I will be dead by tomorrow and I will not even have to answer their calls. Who knows!

Leaving the apartment building, I go to the cave in the forest. I have already planned a way to escape in case I ever had to run and it turns out, I do ended up having to run in the end.

Sitting in the cave, waiting for the night is never easy. The fact that I am spending my eighteenth birthday here...is even worse.

Besides, Wolves are more active at night. There is the problem of Border patrol too at night, but the thing is...

Those werewolves out for the border patrol don't know me and as I have now taken the potion again, they will think of me as a mere human.

That's why I am running away in the night. It will prevent any stumbling upon the people I knew.

When the night comes, I sling the bag over my shoulders and step out of the cave to inhale the fresh forest smell. It's heavenly. I have always loved forests.

My eyes go to the full moon in the sky and I sigh out. “ Help me Moon Goddess. Don't let me die before meeting him. ”

I don't want to die before ever meeting and knowing my mate.

Determined, I make my way inside the forest carefully. When I get close to the border, I heave a heavy breath. I am close to freedom.

As I breath in relief and try not to think about the pain in my organs, I see a silhouette in the distance - A huge outline of a man.

My eyes narrow down to see him clearly, but my vision blurs out. The effects of wolfsbane. I am weak right now.

Shaking my head, I continue on my way. I just have to cross their border and I will be fine.

When I take a whiff, I realize he is a werewolf. My body freezes and I stop on my spot.

Shit.

His scent is not familiar though. It's sweet. He smells like the forest specially rosewood. Intoxicating. His scent intoxicates me and I start walking to him without even realizing.

The closer I get to him, the faster my heart beats. My palms start sweating profusely.

Who is he? I want to know. I NEED to know.

There is like a thread pulling me to him. My body acts on it's own and I feel strangely excited.

What's happening to me?

Before I realize, I am standing in front of him. He is huge. I only come up to his neck.

His broad shoulders are illuminated by the moonlight and his gray sweatshirt is doing nothing to hide his strong build.

Tracing his body, my eyes land on his face. He has a chiseled jaw, his lips are plump - cherry in color, his nose is straight and his eyes - those silver gray eyes...

It's like my breath is knocked out of my lungs. All the hair on my body stand up. My heart beat slows down rhythmically.

Something pulls me to him again and I stumble forward, feeling the tingles rising on my body. The feeling makes me feel like I am drunk.

“ Mate. ” The whisper spills out of my mouth, before I could even register it in my mind.

And then...

I hear another female voice in my head.

“ RUN! ”

Chapter 05

MIRACLE'S POV

“ RUN! ” The familiar female voice which screams in my head, shocks me to my core.

G-Gia? Is it Gia?

All my focus shifts to my supposedly dead-wolf from my most awaited Mate.

“ Gia? ” I speak in my mind, hoping desperately to hear her voice again.

What if it's my imagination and Gia is really not here? The thought makes me sad and I look back up at my mate.

His silver gray eyes are staring me down intensely. An aura of power is radiating off him.

I don't understand the emotion in his eyes at all.

Why is he not coming to me?

Why is he not making any move?

I stumble forward as confusion takes over me. He sets his lips in a thin line and before I can take even a step more closer to him, Gia screams in my head once again.

“ RUN! ” This time the intensity of her scream in my head makes me nauseous.

All my senses heighten as I look around and I realize it was really Gia. I suddenly feel complete and not just a pesky werewolf without the wolf.

“ Gia? Is it really you? ” I try to communicate with her but as a reply to my question, I feel my eyes starting to burn.

Gia is pushing herself out of me to take control over me. I have not felt this feeling for a long time. All my body tingles and the silence of my mate is not helping my situation.

Failing to control myself, I fall down to my knees and my clothes start ripping apart as Gia pushes past the barrier to take control of my weak body.

The feel of having all your bones snapped and then shaped again to turn into a wolf turns out to be too painful for me as I have not shifted for a long time.

Raising my head, I grit my teeth finding my mate still standing on the same spot. His silver gray eyes are glazed over as he stares me down, lost in his own world.

He looks shocked, angry, bored and I don't why he looks like this. Is he not happy? Can he really not feel what I am feeling right now?

My head hangs low as all my bones snap into shape and Gia completely takes over me. My white wolf starts running as soon as I shift and I don't know what's happening.

I am not even sure if it's a dream or reality. I found my mate, my supposedly dead wolf just took control over me and now I am running away from my mate.

“ GIA! WHAT ARE YOU DOING? ” I mindlink my wolf, as I try my best to stop running, but she is in control right now.

I want to stop and go back to my mate. I know he is still there. I can feel his presence.

I want to go to him.

I want to know him.

I want to ask him about the mark on my neck.

I want to love him and I want him to love me.

He is the only one who can never abandon me...Mates can never abandon each other.

I want to do all of these but my wolf - Gia has something else in her mind. She just runs and runs, carrying me away from my mate.

My mind freezes the moment I detect the chilly fear radiating off Gia.

She is scared. No. Not scared...She is scared out of her mind.

That's why she is running.

“ What's wrong? ” I ask Gia who is still running through the thick - dark forest.

No reply. She refuses to reply me. Why? I don't know but I know for a fact that she is not answering me deliberately.

So she broke the mindlink with me on purpose? Why? No wolf had ever done this with their human before.

But then again...I am no ordinary werewolf.

I am the one who was born marked and who was cursed since birth.

Everything aside, What is Gia scared off? Her fear is getting to me too now. I can feel myself losing all control over myself.

Shaking all thoughts off, I focus on the forest in front of us. Running wildly, Gia has reached the edge of the mountain under which there is a huge lake. My heart thumps against my ribcage as she runs along the edge, her feet only inches away from having us both drowning in the deep lake.

Suddenly, I hear the loud growl in the forest. All sounds stop and everything goes still after that.

The loud growling of the wolf was so powerful and eerie that my hair rise up on their ends. All creatures seem to have run away the moment that wolf growled.

Is it my mate?

I force Gia to turn and see only to meet endless forest and darkness behind us.

My forced action causes Gia to stumble over a branch and she turns her head around as her right paw slips down the edge.

Whimpering, she barely manages to bring her paw back on the forest ground. I sigh in relief only for Gia to start running once again.

“ STOP GIA! ” I fight for control, her wild actions beginning to scare the hell out of me.

What is she so scared off that she is risking our lives running away like this?

She does not listen to me and keeps running aimlessly in the forest when something huge jumps over us and lands right in front.

Trying to stop herself on time and not collide with the huge black wolf which now stood in front of us with it's side facing toward us, Gia fails miserably and ends up sliding right into his body.

Our side meets the gigantic figure and I hear the loud sickening sound of the bones cracking, which echoes in the silent forest.

Pain courses through my body - A hot-searing pain, which makes me close my eyes to get myself out of this painful trance. My breath is knocked out of me and when I try to breath, I realize that I have broken my ribs...Two of them, I think.

Without waiting for a moment, Gia pushes us away from the black wolf who turns his head toward us.

I notice his red eyes just as Gia tries to run again.

His eyes - A hot glowing red color.

Forgetting all my pain, I find myself lost in those glowing red eyes when the realization dawns upon me.

He is...

He is the Alpha King - Cain Reyes.

Only he has a black wolf and those red glowing eyes. I have heard everyone talking about his wolf in the cafe.

Shivers of dread run down my spine. Everything clicks in my mind now.

Alpha King is going to kill his mate and then make Olivia, his mate.

Mate...

I notice other things too now. Aura of Danger along with Power was oozing off Cain Reyes but in my hazy mind, I never registered it.

He was dangerous. He IS Dangerous.

He is going to kill me. Gia realized this, before I did.

All hopes shatter as I try to deal with the shock that hit my mind hard.

I waited for him. I loved him even when everyone believed that his mark on my neck is a curse. I still wanted him, still wanted this mark if it was what connected me to my other half, my soulmate, my mate.

I thought he will come and everything is going to be fine, but it turns out, he brought death and heartbreak with him.

I want to think about something funny and deal with this pain of heartbreak, which is worse than the physical pain he caused me just now.

To think about it, his wolf blocked my path like this even when he knew Gia wouldn't be able to stop.

He did it on purpose.

Suddenly, I feel someone trying to mindlink me. This was forced and it hurt like someone was slicing through my brain.

“ Submit! ” His voice sounds in my head and I realize it was him.

The pain in my head causes a loud ringing in my ears.

I know Gia still wants to run but she knows we can't. He is an alpha - No - He is the Alpha King.

She whimpers softly and then hangs her head low to show her submittance. This fills me with a sense of hurting my own self-respect.

His aura only grows more dominant, more powerful after that. It is deadly.

I mentioned it before right?...

Alpha King only hurts when he wants to hurt.

He wants to hurt me. He is here to kill me. The moment I turned eighteen, I found the one I was looking for, but he is not what I was looking for.

“ I finally found you Mate. ” The Alpha King's hateful and deep voice penetrates my mind once again and Gia drops down on the soft muddy ground.

Gia starts to shift back as it becomes unbearable for both of us to resist Alpha King's suffocating aura and demand for submission.

Now I lay naked, vulnerable and dirty in front of him. I am unable to protect myself. I hate this.

My teary eyes move to his red glowing eyes and my heart yearns to see his silver gray orbs, before he decides to end life for me.

Blame it all on Stupid mate bond.

He moves closer to me and I curl up in myself, after closing my eyes.

Everything hurts...

It hurts so bad, but the pain in my heart is thousand times worse than the pain my body is experiencing.

What is there left for me anymore?

I lived for him until now. It was the hope of meeting him which kept me alive and pushed me to fight for survival but now...

It's all gone.

He does not want me either. I am really cursed.

No good feeling is for me.

No happiness. No peace. No harmony...

No love.

Before losing my grip on my mind, I feel the mark on my neck burning furiously and I hear his deep voice in my head for the last time.

“ The curse must end now, Mate. ”
