My Childhood Friend Celebrated My Death, But Tears Fell When He Learned the Truth
Chapter 3
As the static cleared, a video titled "Wedding" began to play, accompanied by the lively sounds of the event.
The camera shook slightly, as if someone was holding it.
Glimpses of guests' smiling faces occasionally flashed at the edges of the frame before the camera suddenly focused.
I stood at the end of the red carpet in my wedding dress. The style was simple.
But when the music started and I looked towards Lucian, my eyes lit up, making the dress seem to sparkle.
The camera turned to Lucian, who was staring intently at me, tears glistening in his eyes.
As I walked closer step by step in the frame, his fingers unconsciously curled and uncurled.
The guests' good-natured laughter rose, and both of us shyly lowered our heads.
The priest began to recite the vows, but Lucian couldn't wait for him to finish and eagerly said, "I do."
The last few seconds of the video showed me in Lucian's arms, my right hand wiping away tears.
Lucian held me tightly, as if he had won a great victory, his eyes full of joy.
Lucian stared at the frozen embrace on the video, lost in thought for a long time.
His hand unconsciously opened and closed, just as it had on our wedding day.
Except for Lucian and me, no one knew.
At the moment of that embrace, Lucian had whispered in my ear, "I will never let you go for the rest of my life."
The image froze on this blissful moment, leaving even the host momentarily speechless.
Host: "You must have been very happy then?"
Lucian: "Yes, but time revealed her true nature to me."
