Tenth Anniversary Betrayal My Wife Birthed Her Sister’s Husband’s Child
Chapter 1
Because my wife said she had a severe fear of pregnancy, I got a vasectomy for her.
Later, she claimed she had to go on a long-term business trip. But when she finally returned, there was a fresh C-section scar across her lower belly.
On our tenth wedding anniversary, she walked out and left me completely alone.
That night, I happened to open Instagram and saw Julian’s post.
"Celebrating our baby boy’s first month! Serena, you went through so much for this."
In the photo, my wife and Julian were smiling sweetly, cradling a newborn in their arms.
Later that evening, I found hidden male enhancement pills and testosterone boosters in our bedroom closet.
If this were the past, I would have desperately confronted her, screaming for answers.
Now, I felt entirely numb. Completely detached.
When Serena got home from work, I was sitting silently on the chair.
She glanced at the empty dining table and frowned.
"Why haven’t you made dinner yet?"
"Didn’t I tell you to cook that nourishing broth for me today?"
I raised my right hand, covered in painful blisters, and said flatly,
"I got burned. Did you forget?"
Serena froze for a second.
I still remembered the day she returned from her so-called business trip, looking completely drained, as if she hadn’t slept in weeks.
Assuming she was exhausted from work, I lovingly made a pot of hot soup for her recovery.
Back then, she acted so touched, claiming she was blessed to have me, and insisted on ladling the first bowl for me.
I held up the bowl, waiting.
Just as she lifted the ladle, Julian called.
She scrambled to grab her phone, not even looking, and dumped the boiling soup straight onto my hand.
I gasped in sheer agony as my skin seared and blistered instantly.
Meanwhile, Serena curled up on the couch, giggling into the phone.
Snapping back to reality, Serena knitted her brows in annoyance.
"Are you still holding that against me?"
"I already told you it was an accident! Why do you have to be so petty and dramatic?"
I didn't utter a word. I just stared at her.
Guilt flickered in her eyes, and she looked away.
She stepped closer, gently rubbing my shoulders, using her usual sweet tone.
"Come on, stop being mad. I really didn't mean to."
"Tomorrow is our tenth anniversary. Smile a little."
"I'll buy you a nice gift, okay?"
A chill ran through my chest. I replied coldly,
"Our anniversary is today."
"And your gift is already in the closet."
Serena stiffened, quickly trying to cover her tracks.
"Oh, come on... I’ve just been swamped with work, it slipped my mind."
"Let me take you out to dinner right now, my treat, okay?"
Before I could answer, her phone rang with that familiar ringtone.
Without even glancing, I knew it was Julian.
She picked up immediately, blurting out,
"I'm coming over right now. Just soothe him first!"
She hung up, looking flustered.
"Julian's baby won't stop crying. He has no idea how to take care of an infant. I need to go help him."
How ridiculous.
When Serena came back from her trip, she suddenly told me Julian had gotten a baby through a surrogate.
Before that, Julian had sworn he would stay single forever after my sister-in-law disappeared.
At the front door, she paused as if remembering something, glancing back at me.
"Logan, I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you with a gift tomorrow."
Did she honestly think I cared about a stupid gift?
She could forget our anniversary, forget my birthday, or even ignore me during her ten-month trip.
As long as she loved me, I could have endured it.
All I ever cared about was her heart.
Yet her heart had never belonged to me.
As she turned to leave, I took a breath and spoke firmly.
"Serena, let's get a divorce."
