When Pro Bono Turns Toxic: No More Free Favors

After I refused to provide free legal services to an entitled single mother, she put me on blast all over the internet.

In her video, she cried tears of pure sorrow, claiming I looked down on the poor and that I secretly demanded kickbacks under the guise of pro bono work.

The hashtags were sickening: #CorruptLawyerFreeConsultationScam and #LegalScumOnlyWorksForBribes.

What the internet didn't know was that whenever I met low-income folks who couldn't afford an attorney, I never took a single dime. I only did it for peace of mind.
